"AFAIK it is not yet possible to assign a service to a softkey unless you are in a services menu."

-- second that.

You can set the Idle URL on the phones to go to a custom service page with your own softkeys defined, but there is an immediate issue there -- the 'native' softkeys disappear if you use Idle URL , and as a service developer, you can not replace them (softkeys like Redial, New Call, CFwdALl, etc).

Starting in CM 4.0 or 4.1 you can assign service URL's to line buttons. This will provide immediate access. AFAIK it is not yet possible to assign a service to a softkey unless you are in a services menu.

I want to use a softkey on the 7912s and 7970 phones to implement the corporate directory. We have corporate directory running but it is a lot of keys to press going via the standard way. services button.etc etc especially on a 7912. Would be handy to do it with a single press of a button.

Any advice on how to do this will be appreciated.

Erik Erasmus
