For a CTI Port to register an external application will need to be
configured to use it and that application will then register to the
port. Softphone and CRA/CRS/IPCC are examples of applications that
will use CTI Ports. The application will log into CCM with a defined
user ID in the Global Directory. This user ID needs to have the CTI
associated so that the application can log in and register the device.
If it is not associated then the application will not be able to
register it.
