You could do the same thing using E&M ports in a multiservice router with
voice DSP.  Hook the E&M port to a 70-volt transmission line speakers.  Set
your E&M port to LMR signaling (so it will auto-answer calls) and assign it
a DN.  When you want to send out a  paging message, call the DN of the E&M
port, speak your message and then hang up the call.   You lose the
flexibility of having individual addressibility of IP-enabled overhead
speakers, but it works and it's cheap!

A voice-enabled 2621XM can be had for well under $3,000 these days.

We are using the Berbee informacast.  In a school setting it works pretty
well.  I really like the bell scheduler and the IP Speakers.  The only
complaint I have is that it's not in real time.  The ad-hoc message records
your message, then opens multicast, then plays, so your looking at some time
before it plays.  I would really like Berbee to open Multicast port and talk
real time.  I haven't seen this anywhere yet.

I know this is a discussion that occurs often, but I was hoping for some
recent opinions. How has everyone solved the lack of a built-in paging
system for CM? Are you using separate hardware? RJ-45 ceiling speakers?
software which broadcasts audio from your cisco phones?
