Erick Thanks for the response. Yes this is IOS 12.3(11)T7 and I do have
the correct fallback commands as you described in your email. I think
my problem is that I have been congiguring all my Gateway MGCP for the
last year and converted the H.323 ones to MGCP as well. I just
remembered there ius one H.323 gateway left and when examining that
router I saw the following:
dial-peer voice 911 pots
destination-pattern 9911
progress_ind setup enable 3
progress_ind alert enable 8
progress_ind progress enable 8
progress_ind connect enable 8
direct-inward-dial
port 1/1/0
forward-digits all
My current MGCP fallback router has pots dial-peers that look like this
:
dial-peer voice 999001 pots
application mgcpapp
destination-pattern 9T
incoming called-number .
direct-inward-dial
port 0/0/1
I think I'm just missing some of the basics under these dial peers.
Carlos

Can you post your config or portion of it?
On the dial-peers pointing to analog fxs/fxo ports, you need service
mgcpapp (if 12.3.14T and higher) or application mgcpapp. This command is
not needed on the dial-peer with PRI port. In Fallback mode the gateway
is operating in H323 mode so the dial-peers will look like a H323
gateway, you may need translation patterns, etc maybe depending on your
call flow.
Globally, you need ccm-manager fallback-mgcp and the following..
For Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.3(13)T or
earlier:
R(config)#call application alternate default
For Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.3(14)T or
later:
R(config)#application
R(config-app)#global
R(config-app-global)#service alternate Default
