If memory serves, the MCX were for cross-connecting T1 channels across a special backplane in the VXR's.  I also believe your VX + part number is pretty on the mark, however, if you have another gateway/router (26XX,28XX,36XX,37XX,38XX) I'd recommend using that instead.  The 7200 pretty much doesn't work well as a voice platform.

Hi,

Does anyone know this? If so, please confirm.

We have a 7204 VXR with a PA-MCX-2TE1 installed. I tried to use it as a
voice gateway between the PSTN and a SIP-server but it doesn't work.
Please check the logging below.

There is no PA-VXx-2TE1+ family of DSP-enabled voice port adapter in the
device.

Now I am afraid I need one to get this to work. Is that right?
