You should be using pri-group. It's the only thing that will create a
serial interface for the D channel. Once the pri-group is created on your
E1 controller, you should see a serial X/x:15 interface. On that interface
set your isdn switch-type to "primary-dpnss" if I remember correctly.

Subject: [cisco-voip] CCM channel-group, pri-group or ds0-group ?
I wonder if anyone has experience of configuring CCM with a Siemens iSLX
exchange? I am using a 2820 router with vwic E1 card and a Westell 2000 plus
DPNSS to QSIG gateway. I am unsure as to what config I should use for the
Cisco config. Should I be using a channel group, pri-group or ds0-group?
Thanks in advance
