Now that you mention it, I believe the MWI was the issue. It will only
light the first DN depending on the order of the partitions of the VM
ports Calling Search Space as you mentioned. If anyone has figured this
out please let me know.....

Subject: Re: [cisco-voip] VM for same DN different partitions
Are you wanting 2 seperate VM boxes for the same DN (2
seperate users), or 1 mailbox for the same DN? I am
going to assume 2 seperate VMs since the other one
should work since unity will see same DN coming in and
go to the VM box with that number.
For the 2 VM box scenario, you'll need to prefix the
calling party on one of the DNs so it is unique when
it hits unity and the other VM box will be used. The
Unity profile would have extension of prefix+number.
This can be done on a VM profile.
On the Call Manager side, you would need a translation
rule of Prefix.XXXX (or similar for your dialplan) so
unity can call the phone. The translation would have
to strip off the prefix and have appropiate CSS so the
other partition is called.
But MWI is going to be a problem, the MWI on/off # CSS
has to be able to call the phone to turn lamp on/off
and if DNs are the same it's going to use the first DN
of the highest partition in the CSS.. the only way
around is to set a different DN on the phone that I
can think of which gets back to the original question.
Theres a Multi Tenant MWI setting under service
parameters for sending MWI messages through
translation patterns, but offhand I'm not sure if the
MWI will use the prefix.XXXX number or the called #
after it goes through the translation rule. Maybe
others know of a trick to get around the MWI issue but
I'm not thinking of one right now.
