[cisco-voip] GiGE phones -what for?!?

I've seen several instances where *nix workstations and servers were  
deployed behind IP Phones that could overrun the buffers of the 40/60  
phones.  Even those cannot communicate at line rate.  Do some testing  
with SmartBits or Ixia if you get a chance.

CAD/Microstation environments and *nix boxes using large UDP NFS  
transfers are the only real world scenarios I have encountered so far.

time of "must have video on every phone in the office".

To simplify my original question: does anybody have real life  
examples of GiGE
deployment for office environments, with GiGE-based phones?
