[cisco-voip] Upgrading OLD 7960 firmware

I'd say you are on the right track trying to get it to upgrade to a
slightly-less old firmware first.

There is an advanced TFTP service parameter that controls whether it
builds the old-style cnf files. I'm not sure if this includes
sepdefault or is just for the device config files.

You may want to look in the phone load archives page on cisco.com.
One of the phone load installers there should include the
sepdefault.cnf file.

I currently have a few phones with very old firmware.
App Load: P003AM30
Boot Load: P0030300

My CCM (4.1) is setup with TFTP, and the device defaults as well as
OS79XX.txt have P00307010200 set as the load.

When I boot my 7960, I am hanging at "Connecting". The tftp shows that
the phone is looking for SEPDefault.cnf (wow its old, not even .xml).
Here is the tftp message:
08/02/2006 12:57:54.090 TFTP|
CTftpConnect::tftp[4428:10.96.3.39:52719] File not found inside tftp()
[SEPDefault.cnf]|<CLID::CIMGROUPCCM01-Cluster><NID::10.96.3.11>

Is there a specific upgrade path I should be following? I tried to
upgrade to P00303010102 by modifying the CCM device defaults and the
OS79XX file, but to no avail. I have heard that the firmware I am
running has a bug loading large firmware, does anyone know how I can fix
this?

Thanks,
Avidan
