Some of the things I might include in a test plan are....
Verify basic functionality
- Place calls between two nodes in the cluster to verify ICCS
communications
- Place outbound and inbound calls to verify GW functionality - make
sure to verify MGCP, H323 and SCCP GWs
- Verify any other supplementary service such as conference, MoH, etc
- Verify CCM Apps such as EM, IPMA, IPCC, etc to make sure the behave
as expected and that you remember to update JTAPI client
- Verify basic voicemail functions; leave/retrieve voicemails, MWI,
Call Handlers, outbound calls
Verify functionality that is important for day to day operation. Make
a list of import call flows, etc and make sure they are working as
expected.
Verify any known issues that you have run into in the past or any that
are causing you to upgrade.
If phone load is updated watch for any changes in the UI that might be
confusing for the users
I guess the important things to test would be to verify the critical
applications/call flows work. As you run into issues with your
production environment, update your test plan to incorporate those
issues. Make sure your test bed is working properly before the
upgrade. If the test bed is also used for other experiments it might
be out of order before the upgrade which lead you down the wrong path
of troubleshooting after the upgrade.
