[cisco-voip] upgrading 4.1(3) to 5.x - can I change MAC address and/or delete/add new phones?

Oh - they want me to talk back to the mother ship? Not sure if I like that.
Once everything is installed though, I can delete phones as normal, right? Just not add more than what I already had in place? They do things by 'points' now don't they? So as long as I don't use more points I'm ok?

When you run DMA (Data Migration Assistant), you will get a file (a biggie). During the upgrade (on-box, off-box, whatever), you go to system - license and you generate a license file.
You go to https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet?FormId=806 and you enter the MAC address (whichever one) and a paste the contents of that license file and you get emailed a real license file. You upload this to CCM5 and you are all cool...

Just wondering how the licencing works in 5.1 - I have a 4.1 installation that I'd like to upgrade for testing purposes. I can pre-load as many phones as I want on this system, does that mean I can change the MAC address without any problems when I want to make the phones work? How about if I want to change from a 7940 to a 7960?
Comments?
