[cisco-voip] How Can I resize the D partition or create a new one at CCM with OS 2000.4.3

The D partition is a FAT partition. It needs to be configured as such
for recovery purposes and as you're all aware, FAT's size limitation is
2 GB. I haven't experimented with this yet, but you may run into issues
if you need to so a system recovery and the install cannot access the D
partition if you've replaced the D partition with a separate HD or
expanded the partition (and changing its format).

I probably wouldn't recommend resizing the drive on a
production server however you could just add another
SATA drive (any SATA should do since you can screw in
a drive on the 7815) to the server or get yourself a
USB drive as Erick mentioned.

Yes, I know exactly what you're going through! I spent
days working on this exact problem about a year ago
and it turned out to be an issue with browser service.
In our scenario the customer had the CM workgroup name
"voice" the same as the Unity domain which was causing
some serious browser election issues! Changing the CM
workgroup to "CM" resolved the problem for us. The
browser election is certainly your problem but fixing
it can be tricky. I can't remember the exact reg
setting but you prevent the servers from contributing
in the browser election on all your servers and force
just your DCs to be the only servers that can be
elected, they should be by default but I find thats
not always the case.

Also,
I hate to say it because I really do like Unity but
Unity FO is by far the worst product that Cisco has to
offer. I foresee many hours on the phone with TAC in
your near future. :-/

When did PM start supporting server OS? I really liked
PM but quite using it a couple years ago strictly for
this reason?

I pray for your sake that they resolved some of the
problems with FO, it's been about a year since I've
had the pleasure of working with it so theres hope I
guess. I've been involved with about 10 different FO
installs and I think it was an even split on customers
that stuck with it and customers that demanded their
money back. I've got some SERIOUS TAC time logged on
Unity FO and still wake up in a cold sweat some nights
dreaming about it.

I mean give it a shot but if it starts to go south
then jump ship and get yourself a spare drive with a
base Unity install and use DIRT as your DR procedure,
or a full server backup, but the supported backup
solutions tend to be prices with the exchange and SQL
agents that accompany it..

We have this working on all of our sites. Due to the limited nature of
MGCP we are useing H323 to control all of our connection to the PSTN and

MGCP to control the FXS ports.

I have done it.

Configured both and set the H.323 as a second choice on the route list,
and then killed MGCP, calls still worked fine.

Customer bought new Unity failover bundle voicemail only, they want the
3rd server (Message Store) running Exchange 2003 (versus Exchange 2000)
as part of the existing domain.

Any licensing issues, caveats? They can provide the Exchange 20003
media, it's the licensing I'm wondering about. Are the Exchange 2000
CALs from Cisco interchangeable with Exchange Server 2003 CALs?

They don't want Exchange 2000 as their email is going from Exchange 5.5
to 2003 and don't want to run AD in mixed mode for Unity. They want
everything Exchange 2003 Server.
