[cisco-voip] MGCP vs H323?

CallerID is not supported on FXO via MGCP.  Essentially the reverse of
Caller name with H.323.  Kinda screwed either way ;-)

Thanks - those are good to know. However, everything I read said MGCP does
not support callerID on FXO ports.

H.323 supports call preservation going in and out of SRST mode.
H.323 supports digit manipulation on calling / called number for inbound 
and outbound calls.
MGCP has caller name and caller ID delivery to the phone; H.323 will 
only deliver caller ID.
