[cisco-voip] CCM/CUE JTAPI UTF-8 Encoding

Hi,
my setup consists of a Cisco Callmanager 4.1(3)sr1 and Cisco Unity
Express Version 2.1.

When I try to add certain users via the import user utility into the
CUE, i get the following exception box:

"IO Exception: Invalid byte 2 of 4-byte UTF-8 sequence.

Verify your web login to the Cisco CallManager from Configure >
CallManager."

As far as i can tell, the problem lies in special characters/umlaute the
users have i.e. in their phone line definitions or speed dialing entries.

The workaround is to remove these special characters in every entry,
i.e. "Peter Müller -> Peter Mueller"

As of now, i think the jtapi, as the communicator between the CCM/CUE
and as a java application itself (this is a java exception), is
responsible for this error.

My questions:
1. Has anyone ever read about this error, i couldn't find anything on
this in regards to cisco software
2. Has anyone a solution to this, as i can not order the users not to
use "umlaute" in i.e. their speed dialing entries.

Regards
Christoph
