interestingly people have different definitions of 'speed dials'

translation patterns (*1) are a good way to setup short dials

if you're looking for a way to add speed dials directly to the line  
buttons on the ipphone look around in BAT - bulk administration tool.  
says you cannot update speed dial lines, but you may be able to  
insert them.

otherwise only means of mass configuration would be via AXL.
