[cisco-voip] SCCP vs SIP vs MGCP firmware for IP Phones

We have a small ip phone shop and all our phones run SCCPxx.x. I've been
asked why we don't change the firmware on our phones to SIP. I've been
doing some reading on this but theres a few simple things I don't
understand. To switch an IP phone from SCCP to SIP or MGCP, can I just
apply that firmware or are there other considerations or pre-reqs? Do I
need to purchase a different phone that will only run SIP firmware? Is
there a comparison sheet out there that shows the pro's and con's for each
of these types? I'd love to run SIP firmware only for the ease of reading
sniffer traces.

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks,
