Hi all

Has anyone used a PVDM2-8 in a Cisco 2801 as a conferencing resource
before. I looked and took part in a thread recently where the way to
do profiles for conferencing and MTP, trancoding was discussed but no
specific platforms. I want to use a c2801 in a branch as a voice
gateway and then add a pvdm2-8 to support a small number of
conferencing local in the branch. The routers already has a PVDM2-8
but this I will leave to terminate the 3 BRI lines.

>From the datasheet it almost looks like it will not work and that I
will have to use a PVDM2-16 as minimum for conferencing. This would be
a bummer becaue these things are expensive. I don't always trust the
data sheest because the info can be misleading and sometimes old
(functions in hardware controlled by IOS sometime improves or become
supported in later versions) so I was hoping either someone did
conferencing on a PVDM2-8 in a c2801 or someone can tell me that
practically it can not be done.

For the group -- I also noticed that with some older IOS versions the
PVDM2-8 cause major problems - rebooting the router (c2801) especially
if it was in the first slot irrespective of what it was configured to
do. Documented problem on Cisco.com
