You can always go into Enterprise Manager for SQL and once you select your server, right click and go to "properties" the SQL version is in plain text with no SQL query.

Subject: [cisco-voip] SQL Version question

Hi,

I have a question about SQL Versions and the relevant ServicePacks

I have a CCM Publisher which I need to know if it has SQL SP3 installed
(it doesn't appear in the Add/Remove applet in Windows.

If I run select @@version in the Query Analyser the response is

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.818

Does anyone have a link or info relating to SQL versions and the service
packs?

Rgds Andy
