[cisco-voip] Unity Backups.

I look at Exchange as its own area and yes you guys are correct that the tool is good for only 100 mailboxes.

Since most of the deployments have been unified I have let whatever backup measures the exchange team wants to put in place and just use the DiRT to get the Unity specific info.

Is your Exchange Message store on or off box? If it is off box (not on the same server as Unity), it has always been my impression that you use DiRT to backup your Unity specific data, and then use a tool such as Backup Exec to backup your Exchange message store.

Do you use DiRT also to backup the Exchange mailboxes? We were told that this is not a good idea because we have a good number of boxes. However BackupExec is a huge pain and DiRT seems far easier.

We use the Scheduled DiRT and then also have an extra set of mirrored drives off in storage. They come back if a major update is made to get a fresh synch or once a quarter.

However Veritas/Symantec works well if you have it.
