[cisco-voip] SIP and MTP

I'm familiar with the doc you provided, but still do not get, if any call over a SIP trunk requires the MTP? Even if I do not need DTMF? Because that would mean that every RTP stream incoming/outgoing over the SIP trunk would terminate on the CM and that does not scale for 1000 callcenter agents :( .....
