[cisco-voip] Blocking an Inbound Call

Hi, Bill.

CCM doesn't have possibilities to make routing decision (also reject) on
the A number ( calling number), so the route pattern don't help.

Its possible discard calls on the gateway, via voice
translation-profile applied on the voice port or dial-peer.

What protocol do you use between CCM and Gateway ?? H323 or MGCP ??

If MGCP? It can be very tricky to do this, I never check how this work
(translation-rules) with MGCP. May be someone in the list checked this
??

Sincerely Yours,
Konstantin Fedorov

Subject: [cisco-voip] Blocking an Inbound Call

A customer was having a problem with inbound calls from a specific
number. Sort of harassment type calls. I was asked how to block calls
from a specific number. I had him create a route pattern and check
block this pattern. Is this the "recommended" method, or is there a
better way to block inbound calls?
