IPCC is a G711 Codec only, as you have now found.

 

We use unity with G711 so that is the easiest way to record.

 

Another option is get a mic for your computer and use the bundled M$
Sound recorder.  Go to properties and select convert now.  I believe if
I remember right you convert to ccitt u-law 8kHz , 8 Bit but you will
need to check the doc's

PS.  If you're running a lot of G729 remember you will need a
transcoding device to let users use your IPCC RPs.

I'm working on an IPCC project right now and it would be nice if I could
have our "prompt voice" just leave me voicemails for the prompts.
Because our unity server is recording in G.729 right now after you save
the voicemail elsewhere no other application is able to play or
understand the file because it's missing the G.729 codec.  IPCC does not
seem to understand the file either so I'm assuming that IPCC wants only
G.711 files.  Is there a decent applications out there for converting
G.729 to G.711 (or MP3)?  Or would it be better to just change Unity so
it records in G.711?
