I have DL380 G4 servers using dual Dual Xeon 3.2ghz processor. 4.1.3
installed with no problem but is this going to cause me issues down the
road?

Thanks!

 I have another server, MCS7825, which is a DL320G4 with a 2.8G
processor, 72G SATA drives and 2G RAM.

In my case it was an IBM x346 in a slightly newer configuration, which
essentially failed on the product part number in the flash.

difference is a faster processor? The screen comes back and informs me
that all is supported except the 3.0G processor. I would hope that on
the drives and RAM it's a lower bound check and not a strict exact check
but only Cisco can answer that (or I guess I could if I bought bigger
drives and more ram)

Such checks are rather stupid on an ever changing plattform like the PC
is
(even when it comes to dedicated server hardware). Certifying platforms
is
one thing, but insisting on outdated models, BIOS and RAID firmwares is
just
painful. In my case, the 4.1 installer (2000.2.7) forcibly downgraded
the
machine's BIOS to a version that failed to detect the CPU correctly...

With CCM 5, have a look into the HWTABLE.data file on the DVD. It will
list the exact models that this DVD will support. If you think yours
should
work as well, but fails on some silly detail like part number or
200MHz
clock difference, just add some new lines to this file and rebuild the
DVD.
This works at least with 5.0. For newer versions, Cisco already
threatened
to make the installation cryptographically signed...
