I guess my question is WHY am I in failover? Does that mean that there
is something wrong with the primary server? I've never experienced this
before.

Steve,

Have you taken a look at the Failover Monitor on the failover server?
Is the Failback button enabled? If it is then you are in failover.

Our system is programmed so that our primary Unity server is supposed to
be active. Is there any reason why the failover server would be active
all the time? This has been happening for almost a week.
