[cisco-voip] Pickup a ringing extension

#1 - It is a lot of admin overhead, but you could configure each phone
with it's own unique CPG. For instance, if an extension is 3441, you
could create a pickup group with the number 83441 and train the users to
pickup (or change the order of the softkeys so that group pickup shows
first) to dial 8+extension to pick up a call.

#2 - I believe there is a phone active and phone inactive ring setting
for individual lines.

#3- You cannot remove the softkey, but you can omit the
VoiceMailProfile from the phone. That way the button would not be
active or make a call if pressed. I went through this with a customer
that purchased 7912s for the majority of the user populace and wanted
this button gone. TAC said it was not possible, but that was 2-3 years
ago. I think to this day that company is still kicking themselves that
they didn't spend the extra money to get all users a higher model phone.

1.	in 4.x you can do the pickup group with all the phones in the
same group. Then they can pick up any phone they want.

2.	Don't know

3.	Doesn't look like it.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Pickup a ringing extension

Hi guys,
a customer has 3 serious questions about CCM 5.X.
He/she said that he was able to have these things at his old PBX.

1.
is it possible to configure a CCM 5.x so someone can pick any ringing
extension he/she wants?
I am not talking about pickup other, or pikup group. The customer wants
to be able to pick any specific extension he wants?

2.
Also, there is BLF on a 7961 phone and the user is able to see an
extension if it is busy or not, but he/she is not able to see on the
phone if the extension is ringing. He does not want to use AC to do
this.

3.
And finally,
is it possible to remove the msgs softkey from a 7911 phone?

Please help guys, i found it very difficult to answer question with CCM
when it starts with:
"Any old, cheap PBX could do this..."

Cheers
Anthony
