[cisco-voip] FXS with DID = unregistered

newbee question:

I've never used a FXS on a VGW before.  Always used ATA's.

so I have a EVM-HD and I setup the first FXS port. it registers just fine.
I put a analog phone on it and it works but has no DN so I can't call it.

CM 5.1.2 I place a DN on the FXS port and it goes unregistered and will not
register.  Am I doing something wrong?
