The issue may be CCX-7845H-50-HAS and it's availablity. Cisco status tool shows the ship date is November, probably due to new product hold limitations. Cisco approved UCCX 5.0(1) and gave the customer the media, except they forgot to provide/order the CCX-7845H-50-HAS. We'll see what the Cisco SE/AM can do in getting the cisco-provided 2003 server media.

Jason,
It is a cisco OS (yeah i know it is 2003 with some modifications)
If you try to install UCCX 5 on a normal 2003 server, it will fail, you will have to emulate the spherion build.
But remember, your UCCX solution is only supported on the Cisco specified OS, and that is the MCS OS.
Even if the customer had talked to bill gates themselves, and he came over with a 2003 cd and key himself, cisco will not support it, as it is no MCS-OS.
A good explanation to you customer is, that the OS needed for UCCX, is based on win2k3 (about 99.99%), and some service modifications and addons have been arranged in order to ensure the UCCX service can be delivered in a supported manner, the cost for the os can be explained, by the 2003 part that cisco has to pay to microsoft, the other part is the support (think SLA and TAC support against Microsoft support) Cisco will provide on a Microsoft OS, and the supported Cisco products that are running on it.

Is the UCCX 5.0(1) Cisco-provided Windows 2003 server just a boxed retail copy of 2003 that looks like the retail edition or is it a 2003.4.4a eg Spherion build?
The customer wants to provide their own 2003 server media as they have a Microsoft site license for 2003 server, and didn't order it from Cisco.

This server MCS-7845-H2-CCX has 4 hard drives, is it two Raid 1 mirrors, or a single Raid 5 array?
The customer is providing their own hardware and setup a single Raid 5 array.
