Thanks for the reply.

About the PRI emulator, please tell me how to connect two router with PRI. It will be very helpful if you point out the cable configuration or perhaps some tutorial on configuration as well.

About Unity, I have seen the compatibility matrix at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/compatibility/matrix/cutspmtx.html. Please clarify Cisco Unity-CM TSP field.

In short, need the following for CCVP lab and Advance Unified Communication (AUC) Specialization :

1- CCM 5.x
2- IP Phones ( I have 2x7912, 1x7910, 1x7940)
3- 3560 PoE switch ( I have 1xPoE and 1x non-PoE)
4- FXO and FXS cards
5- PRI ( I have one PRI and can practice if connected back to back with another as told by Avner)
6- BRI (I have these with a 2-port BRI emulator)
7- Unity 4.x ( AUC)
8- IPCC Express (AUC, pease advise version)
9- Meeting Places (AUC, please advice version)

Need your comments on the above list.

Regards,
Syed Khalid Ali

  Hi Syed,

CCVP has 4.x and 5.x in it, you should probably go for call manager 5.x, works well on vmware but the licensing might be tricky .

Unity 4.x can be installed on any platform, but it is not in the CCVP curriculum (aside from the TUC). CUE is not in there at all.

The installations will not be supported by cisco, but can be used for training proposes.

PRI emulators can be replaced by using a back to back pri connection on a router, just make sure you take care of clocking and protocol emulation.

  Hi to all,

Currently I have CCM 4.1(3) running on vmware virtual machine (on Dell Optilex GX-270). 2611, 2651XM, 2821 routers.
2xFXO (for 2600 series). 2xFXS (2600 series). CCME 3.3. 1xPRI card(which is useless since no PRI lines to work with).
  3xISDN BRI cards . 2-port ISDN BRI emulator. 1x 3560 24Port PoE EMI. 1x 3560 24Port EMI.

Now my boss will be ordering NFR for security guys in January 2008 and asking me if any thing i need in lab.
Should I include CCM 5.0 or CCM 6.0 software, which one is better. Also do I need to have an MCS server .
Does CCM5/6 install and run without problems on vmware.
And what about PRI emulators, Unity Express or Unity. Also Does Unity requires an MCS server to run.

  regards,

  syed khalid ali
