add 'direct-inward-dial' under your d-ch serial interface:
int s1/0:23
direct-inward-dial

I used the num-exp, however, when I call in from pstn side, I get a dialtone
from which I dial 2001 and ring the ip phone.
Why does the router provide this dial tone?

I would add one note to that..
And I use num-exp too...
If you use 4 digits on both sides-- it makes the changes for ALL calls.
IE say you have an ext 4500 via an h.323 dial peer..
And you have a DID incoming as 4500 to translate to 2333.
ALL calls to 4500 become 2333...
I had to t/s a customer modification that did this..
And it was one of 90 num-exp in the system- I think my eyes were too
tired to see it at first..
With a translation profile-- you can direct it based on the incoming
dial-peer.
Think of num-exp as the 20 ld sledge hammer and translation profiles as
the 15 oz finishing hammer....
Later,
Jim

Easier way, use num-exp...
So, do this:
num-exp 4071111101 2001
num-exp 4071111102 2002
etc....

Hello, I have setup CME and have 4 - 7960 ip phones with extension
2001-2004.
I have a PRI connected to a PRI Simulator to some pstn ports. Outbound
dial
works fine, however how do I
map the incoming pri numbers 4071111101-4071111104 to the ip phone
extensions 2001-2004?
TIA
