[cisco-voip] callmanager 6 + opera = better gui performance

Just curious if anyone's ever seen where Enterprise Parameters and Service
Parameters are empty in any browser under CCM6?

tab? enable it under preferences. I actively use tabs in safari.

Yeah, I noticed better performance using Safari... However, its

inability to tab makes it mostly worthless as a browser...

i am new to the mailing list, so forgive me if this has been covered
already.

i installed cm 6.0 today for the first time, having only used 4.x before. i
noticed the gui slowness seen by others. i use firefox 2 on linux.

i initially thought it was platform-related (as others have), but dug a
little deeper. i looked at the cm web code, and then compiled firefox for
debugging. after a number of tests, it definitely appeared that the
javascript engine (spidermonkey) was causing the slowness. spidermonkey has
performed poorly for me in the past on other web applications i have tested.

so i looked for javascript engine performance optimizations, and came across
this page:

        http://nontroppo.org/timer/kestrel_tests/

this page tested javascript engine implementations and found that opera 9.5
was the best by a large margin. so i installed opera 9.5 on my linux box and
cm performance is MUCH snappier.

i hope this information is helpful. for firefox fans, i do not think
javascript performance will get better until the tamarin engine goes into
production next year. we'll have to wait and see.
