Also what was the EXACT error being reported, "I yanked the second CPU
and it now says that the clock speed (2800Mhz) is NOT SUPPORTED..."

Sorry I did notice the clock speed in the original e-mail, 2.4GHz. You
will need a minimum of 2.8GHz for 5.x. Where did you see that 2.0GHz was
acceptable for 5.x upgrade?:

OK, that didn't work at all.

I yanked the second CPU and it now says that the clock speed (2800Mhz)
is NOT SUPPORTED...

I thought the CPU requirement for CCM5 was 2GHz?

It says the 2GB is good, the HW Type (Vendor/Product) is good, the
number of CPUs (1) is ok...

And then it halts.

The key is the harddisks configuration. Check the requirements
for a HP DL380G (if it has a dual processor or not). I had a similar
issue with Unity Connection...

Should plug the second CPU back after install - if you do that
you need again 6 harddisks....

Don't get me wrong, I am pretty sure it will work...

		But...

Will it die when I plug the second CPU back in after
install? I mean, why not have two CPUs....?

			Scott,

You hit the nail on the head. As long at the
server meets all other requirements they can pull the extra CPU & the
install should complete.

			It is entirely possible.

They originally bought this thing two years ago
and threw the other processor in when they upgraded to 4.1 (I think it
was one of their admin power nerds thinking more cpu=better).

Let me try yanking the second CPU and power
module and see what happens... I am going back there Weds....

I have a customer, they have an DL380
G3, that he wants to upgrade to CCM5... (he currently is running 4.1(3))

The box has 2GB of RAM, dual 2.4Ghz
Xeons and two 72GB U320 Hard drives...

Keep getting an error after the media
check that there are not enough hard drives... (2 of 4 found)

				Using a CCM5.0(4) DVD...

				Is this hardware configuration
supported?
