[cisco-voip] where ro start little xml programming

hi

i know ccm and ccme . and how can i give some services for the ip phones.
i wanna use some xml scripts. for example from the ip phones i wanna see  weather guess, or i wanna assign some special functionalities to the buttons .not very professional but maybe little scripts . Coz i dunt have software background.
i know i should know xml for thats kind of services/

but i dun know from where to start? Or dont i have to know xml?
any suggestion pls
