We have a CMM blade with the ACT card for DSP resources. I use it for
both Transcoding and conferencing. Works like a charm.
In case of WAN outages, the remote branches are just with out, but our
WAN has been very stable so it has not become an issue.

Subject: [cisco-voip] using conferencing resources over the WAN
Anyone using conference resources over the WAN? We've got a pretty good
link ( 100mbps & <9ms roundtrip) and rather than spending money on more
DSPs than I need, I'd like to use the h/w conf resources (6608s) we have
here (which are currently underutilized). I can always buy more DSPs if
that doesn't work out, but I don't want to waste money. In the event of
WAN failure, they can't use the DSPs for conferencing anyways, so not
much help there.
