I use HP switches for the majority of my network, seems to work good. QOS isn't a problem, although depending on the switch you have it can require different setups. 

Attached is an example from a Procurve 2650 running latest firmware load . I do my VLAN a bit different. I set the admin vlan on the phone at first boot to 20 and then the phone does the rest through dhcp 



vlan 1
   name "DEFAULT_VLAN"
   untagged 1-33,49-50
   qos priority 5
   no untagged 34-48
   exit
vlan 20
   name "VOIP"
   no ip address
   qos priority 1
   tagged 1-49
   exit
