it is actually worse in the 41/61 line

we have RMA'd atleast 50 out of an order of 700 that had this problem out 
of the box

It?s very known problem in 7960?s , after few years of use , I hope Cisco 
knows that and it won?t be such a problem in 41/61/71?s in future use. You 
may try to repair that by opening the chassis J and do few simple manual 
things. Sometimes it helps. 
As far as I remember cisco says that you should press off hook key 12 
times , one by one J - maybe sometimes it will help , for me it did?t help 
at all , even once.

We have had an unusual amount of 7940?s die in the past few months with 
the physical handset on hook button no properly lifting and answering the 
call.  Are we the first to have this happen, or is this a known problem?
