Is the music on hold file a custom file you created that does not exist on
the Call Mgr? I ask this to verify that you are definitely getting the
music from the router's flash between the IP phones.

When you put a PSTN caller on hold run this command : show ccm-manager
music-on-hold

You should see output similar to the follwoing:

Current active multicast sessions : 1
Multicast RTP port Packets Call Codec Incoming
Address number in/out id Interface
===================================================================
239.1.1.1 16384 326/326 42 G.711ulaw Lo0 *

This will tell you the multicast address being sent from flash and the
codec.

It might be that your gateway does not have the correct Media Resource
Group List. In the case of the PSTN caller your MOH RTP stream is between
the Gateway and the phone. Post you findings and I may be able to help
you find the issue.

Carlos

[cisco-voip] Multicast SRST, branch router, no moh for PSTN caller

Hi there,

I have installed an 3825 Router in a branch office, to avoid multicast
crossing the WAN links. I have configured, as mentioned in the cisco
documents, the moh on the branch router. That works fine for the phones,
but if an external caller is put on hold, he hears nothing. Is it
possible, that i need a stream for ulaw and alaw? I think,I have
configured the ulaw stream. The router is in france, so I think, they
would need alaw.

Or has anyone of you had this problem before?

Any response would be helpful, many thanks
