I researched the cameras and couldn't find the Cisco part numbers on the
Cisco parts list to lookup prices.
I've been real happy with the Axis product line, we have some colleges
using those for recording. I used the Axis to push a image to a web cam
page, but Axis does support recording to specialized DVRs.

after buying out the company that designed them):

Does anyone here have experiences with these products (or ones from the
predecessor company) that they could share? Due to the events at
Virginia Tech we're looking at beefing up our security/surveillance and
one of the things they are looking at are cameras that feed data back to
a central monitoring/recording server over the LAN.
