ah - that was the trick. plug in a power cube and get audio out? is it line level or amplified?

I had one of the originals for a while...I don't remember the temperature, but I do remember those two 1/8" jacks that were hidden with a piece of tape.
Did those ever make it to the production run?

Speaking of the 7970 touchy thing, did anyone have any of the first EFT
7970 phones? They were called the "finger burner" because the screen
would get so hot. When you went to select an option on the screen, it
wouldn't literally burn your finger or anything, but it was hot enough
to be uncomfortable.

7940 or 7941?
Cuz the 7940 has a horrible screen... upgrade to the 41s and you get
a grayscale version of the 7970 screen (without the touchy thing)
