Ick, adding servers to the domain is such a pain in the butt.

I'm not sure why DMA is failing. You can set the FQDN of the server
to anything you wish, regardless of whatever domain/workgroup the
server belongs to.

What leads you to the conclusion of a hostname mismatch causing the
DMA to fail?

DMA fails cuz a hostname mismatch.

Cuz it's not on the domain... of course, I can't join it, cuz the
existing PUB is there...

So, I have to run DMA on an old crappy server...

Wondering, anyone else run into this and know of a workaround...?
