[cisco-voip] Direct Connect lines

We are in the process of migrating from our Nortel PBX.  A lot of our users
have direct lines that ring on a certain line appearance between the manager
and the assistant.  Im looking for the easiest way to set this up on my CM.
I am running 4.(3)sr3c.  At one of our sites, what we did was put a system
number on each phone, then added a speed dial to each phone pointing to that
system number.  While it works, it sucks up two line appearances and a lot
of these people already have enough speed dials to fill their phones.  Is
there any simpler way of doing this without a 3rd party app, or is that what
I am limited to?
