[cisco-voip] Downloading Software to a Call Manager Box?

I once had a customer hand me a USB drive that had a virus on it....I'm
surprised cisco hasn't shut down the USB ports on the BIOS of the
MCS-7800s.

 

Commonly a USB drive gets left in the server, preventing it from
booting, as it tries to PXE boot off the USB drive versus c:\

Is there any reason why I shouldn't download the Cisco device pack
(ciscocm.4-1-3-2007-DST-Update.1-0-1) directly to the box and install?
I've been using my laptop to download and transfer the executables to my
jump drive and then installing on the Call Manager box, but I would
rather skip those steps unless you guys have any horror stories.
