I'm glad they finally got the field notice updated. Also see my
email from this morning indicating that a new phone load is available
that fixes this problem. If you do not want to wait for 8.2(2) next
week then open a TAC SR and request 8.2(1)ES5 be posted for you.

Well, this document finally explains the answer and basically one
final step is required.
Go into CCMAdmin and reset the phone. Bingo, correct time. And to
make this even worse, each time the 7970 phones lose power and
reboot, they’ll reboot with the incorrect time and you’ll have to
reset them again via CCMAdmin. Until this is fixed in a new phone
load of course.

***IMPORTANT NOTE***: For 7906G, 7911G, 7941G/GE, 7961G/GE, 7970G,
7971GE, in addition to the above phone loads, there is one manual
workaround that will be needed in order to get the phones to display
the correct time.
There is a Daylight Savings Time issue which will be fixed in an
upcoming phone release, having the following workaround:
- Reset the IP phone from the CCMAdmin for the phone to get the
correct time.
Please be aware that each time IP Phones lose power, the System
Administrator will need to reset the IP Phones from CCMAdmin to get
the correct time.
