It is definitely necessary to install Exchange System Manager on the Unity
server prior to installing the Unity application. ESM provides the
necessary MAPI libraries that Unity will leverage to communicate with
Exchange servers.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity 4.2 Install Question

If I am installing Unity 4.2 on windows 2003 server and going to integrate
with AD and Exchange 2003 on the domain, do I have to install the Exchange
Deployment tools on the Unity server, I am having an issue getting the files
to run and I was wondering whether I could carry on with the installation
without them.

This is a lab system in VMware.
