[cisco-voip] Any Dell POE Switches

Yes I have a customer who has phones running on a Dell switch. The two
things to keep in mind are that the Dell will only provide 802.3af
POE, so if you have 7940s, 7960s or any of the other original phones
it will not work as they require the Cisco pre-standard power. The
second consideration is that without CDP you will have no way to to
automatically configure the separate data and voice VLANs on the phone
if you want to segment that traffic. You can manually configure the
phone to use the VLANs correctly, but it is no longer an hands off
process. If you can live with those two caveats then the price is
significantly lower than the Cisco product... personally this is not a
configuration that I would recommend to a customer, but sometimes they
already have other switches in place.
