[cisco-voip] 2821 media gateway registration problem in CCM 5.1

You should not need DNS to register an MGCP gateway to CCM. The
name the gateway uses for registration is only used to identify the
endpoint, not for any IP connectivity. If anything you would need
to add a host entry on the router so it could do DNS resolution for
the CM server's hostname but this would only be the case for backup
servers if you are doing 'ccm-manager config' and have your servers
listed as hostnames in CCMAdmin System->Server.

Hello,

i 've got a stange problem that is the registration failure of a mgcp
2821 media gateway with call manager 5.1, with the same configuration
that use to work with other versions of call manager, excepting the
fact that i use to add a host entry in the hosts file of the earlier
version of Call Manager, and in thies versin i can't /dont know how
to do it.

The media gateway shows registered in the 2821 , but in Call Manager
admin page it appears as unregistered.

Does anybody had the same problem with this version?
Anybody knows a workaround?

Thnkas in advanced

Pedro
