[cisco-voip] SIP Trunk with FAC/CMC

Now you know my conundrum. It's not very clear with respect to SIP trunks. The document states it requires MGCP and doesn't work on H323. That's it, no mention of SIP.

I spoke to soon , Yes it is not supported on H.323 analog gateways
H.323 analog gateways do not support FAC or CMC because these gateways cannot play tones

I am not sure if FAC/CMC is not supported with H.323, I believe FAC/CMC is a ccm function and should be gateway protocol independent. As these are prompted and enabled on ccm Route patterns.
Maybe Wes or Ryan can confirm.

Well, I'm sure you use the same route patterns with H323 and FXO ports but we already know that FACs are not supported on those.
Any of the Cisco guys have any comments? I guess I could open a TAC case for confirmation.

SIP route patterns are used for domain routing/URL dialing , You can use regular route patterns for digit dialing and as J said it should work with regular route patterns.

In the documentation, it has special instructions for SIP route patterns and
the configuration options listed does not have FAC/CMC.
Is anyone out there using SIP trunks with the regular route patterns or do
you have to use the SIP route patterns?
