[cisco-voip] Octel to CallManager

I haven't worked on the Octel personally before either. Our group that has
been keeping it up is telling me there is no way to do this, that it's a
proprietary format. We can hook up to it and dial in, but again we are
looking for an automated way if possible because of the huge volume.

Having never seen an Octel before, I assume there's nothing as simple as a
harddrive in the thing that might contain normal audio files but with some
weird extension (eg, wav files named pzm, or something like that)??

That is what I was thinking. I have read small excerpts about the recorded
name sync and thought maybe if I can figure out what that is doing that I
could recreate it. Otherwise, as you mentioned it gonna be a script. I was
thinking a combination of Perl and Asterisk might get it into a format that
I can then export.

Sounds like an IP-IVR script to me.  Have program the script to call Octel
and then run through the permutations of trees.  Call the recording step on
each branch.

I know things like VPIM (or is it the other voicemail protocol?) will sync
over users, users recorded names, and system/location names.  However I
believe that does not do trees.
