Probably not.
;-) I'd have used a Valley People or EchoDynamics gain-balanced filter
to chop the frequencies above that.
In the latter, you can graphically listen to only the frequency range
(think horizontal bars on a spectrum analyser view of the audio track)
You'd listen to just the "bands" you want to hear until you hear nothing
but the "s"es, then convert the frequencies inside the 'bars" to a
filter.
A ValleyPeople filter would do the trick of actually nicely.
You don't need _everything_ in the picture below ;-)
-- the Valley People is in the rack just below and left of the speaker
column.

And yes-- my Bachelors is in Audio Engineering and Production.
Technically, I'm a recording engineer and producer ;-)
More realistically though, there's a free product called Audacity that I
use for this sort of thing:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
GREAT little audio editor, easy to use for those folks not
audio-engineers.
Also useful for extracting audio from Star Wars and other places to make
MP3 based ringtones ;-)
(yes, my cell phone says "Check it out corporal, we'll cover you! (roger
roger)"
Use the 'lame' MP3 encoder to do that part with.

the combined breadth of knowledge on this list never ceases to amaze
me.....
i'll bet no other list can claim having knowledge of a "de-'s'ifier"
