I have found with the latest version of VLC that the TTL count doesn't
work correctly.
no matter what you set in the GUI, the actual (and the value in the .ini
file) doesn't change.
Had me stuffed for ages when trying to do a similar thing...
It might default to 1 anyway, but if you want your Multicast to traverse
any routers, you will need to edit the /ini file manually...

Cool. Thanks. I've used VLC before but it hadn't occurred to me to look
