There are some third party remote control applications that allow you to
control the phone and you could probably use this to configure the phone
and change it to DHCP via the settings button. However, this is pure
speculation because I have never actually used one of the applications,
just seen it from afar. :) I know Berbee sells one.

I concur. By making this a seperate task, you can reasonably ensure that
if
the DHCP/TFTP process works on the old cluster, it will continue to work
on
the new cluster.
